Lambs:
0.2 litres 4 times per day for 1-8 days
0.3 litres 3 times per day for 8-14 days
Next 0.5 ltr. 2 times per day, until the lamb weighs 9-10 kg or is 5 weeks old
Give hay and concentrated feed ad lib
Foals:
Start with a daily ration of 10% of the foal's weight, gradually increasing to 20% on the 14th day.
This amount to be kept constant until time of weaning.
Feeding routine: Start with 0.1-0.4 litres per feeding. The rations are given at the following intervals:
Week 1: 2 hours
Week 2: 3 hours
Week 3: 4 hours
Week 4-5: 6 hours
Week 6-8: 8 hours
Week 9-16: 12 hours
Give hay and concentrated feed ad lib.
The foal can be weaned when the feed intake is 0.5-1 kg of concentrated feed and at least 2 kg of hay.
