Field report on the NutriSpar®-Premium concept

The pig fattening farm

The farm is located in the north-east (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania). It has 4,300 fattening places, Topig's genetics, which it operates using the pure-out method. The DG is 860 gr and the FCR o1 : 2.8. PIA occurs on the farm despite vaccination.

Feeding

Until November 2019, two commercial supplements were used based on soy, DDGS, wheat bran and rape seed meal combined with CCM and barley. The farm feeds 4 phases.

The new VILOFOSS® NutriSpar concept

Feeding was changed to a home mixing concept with barley, wheat, CCM/moist maize and soybean meal NP and mineral feed

The result

The performance increased to 900 gr TZN and a FVW of 1 : 2.67, despite 5 kg higher sales weight per fattening pig. PIA no longer occurred.

Although the feed mix was 40 or 50 cents more expensive per 100 kg with exactly comparable ingredients, we achieved an additional profit of 5 euros per fattening pig due to the better performance.
