X-Zelit
One of the most important factors of a stress-free onset of lactation is a consistent high blood calcium concentration. Calcium levels are crucial for proper muscle function, ability to move around safely and, consequently, prevent injuries and secure high welfare for the cows.
Avoid milk fever with perfect calcium balance
X-Zelit binds phosphorus regardless of the raw material used in the ration. This increases the blood calcium level through increased mobilisation of bone calcium as less dietary phosphorus is absorbed. When calving begins, the calcium regulation system is activated and the cow maintains a perfect blood calcium concentration through the entire calving and onset of lactation.
Why X-Zelit?
- To prevent clinical or sub-clinical milk fever
- Feeding X-Zelit 2–3 weeks prior to calving secures consistent high blood calcium concentration.
- Prevents clinical or sub-clinical milk fever
- Proper muscle function, ability to move around safely
- Lower risk of secondary diseases and reproduction challenges
X-Zelit is fed to the dry cows 14 to 21 days prior to calving. No matter the type of diet fed, X-Zelit will bind to the dietary phosphorus, which will then be excreted in the feces. This creates a P deficiency in the blood, as phosphorus is used in many metabolic cycles. In an attempt to reestablish blood P levels, the cow activates her hormonal system and mobilizes the bone Phosphorus reserve. In the bone the P is linked to calcium, which leads to the release of both Ca and P, thus supporting a high and constant Ca level in the blood.
Dosage:
General recommendation:
- 2 weeks before calving
- 350-500 g X-Zelit/cow/day
- Do not feed post-calving
Use:
Add X-Zelit directly into your mixer wagon according to correct dose
Or add X-Zelit directly on top of the TMR in front of the cows on the feed table
Make sure to remove access to X-Zelit as soon as the cow has calved
