Combination of HooFoss and Stalosan F reduces the use of antibiotics and increases milk yield
A year ago, Bulgarian farmer, Nenko Trifonov was looking for a solution to his problem with infectious laminitis in his herd of 420 Holstein Friesian cattle. He contacted our specialists at Vilofoss and gave a clear idea of the problem in the animals. When first visiting the farm in March last year, Hristo Dimitrov, technical representative for cattle at Vilofoss, found that the levels of animals infected with Digital Dermatitis (Mortellaro disease) had reached 28% and Foot Rot was 6% for the whole herd and the losses were significant.
“It led to reduced levels of animal productivity and is a major problem for animal welfare,” says owner Nenko Trifonov.
After visiting the farm Hristo Dimitrov decided to recommend a combination of Hoofoss and Stalosan F. And this turned out to be a great solution for Nenko Trifonov and his cows.

After 10 months of using the product Hoofoss and Stalosan F, the animals feel much better and infectious diseases are decreased dramatically. Digital Dermatitis (Mortellaro disease) was only found in 3% of the herd and Foot Rot was found in 1% of the herd. Furthermore, the milk yield has increased in average by 2 liters per cow.
This is all together great results and Nenko Trifonov is very pleased.
