Field report: Influence of NutriSpar® on performance and manure
The pig fattening farm
The farm is located in the North (Schleswig-Holstein) of Germany. It has 5,000 fattening places, Danish genetic, divided into 2 x 2.000 fattening places and a farm with 1.000 places.
The diets of the Home Mixer are based on cereals, soya meal, bread and whey. He´s practising 3 phases.

When using NutriSpar, the proportion of whey and bread, among other things, was halved. To save money he changed to 4 phase feeding.

There were 2,000 pigs in the trial, starting weight 33.1 kg, final weight 124.8 kg Jan - April 2020.
The DG was 1.186 g and a FCR of 1 : 2.48. The lean meat percentage was 58 % and the losses 1.5 %. The farm manager was struck by the significantly lower manure production in the NutriSpar group with 0.5 m3 per fattening pig compared to the comparison group with 0.7 m3 per animal. Despite the higher dry matter of the slurry, no concentration of the values was observed. The farm manager is convinced: "NutriSpar has clearly improved the nutrient utilisation, this led to less slurry and saves storage space. The savings from NutriSpar can be seen in the reduction of nutrients per pig - less land required."
